Monroe Manor Inn

The inn is another historic structure, built in 1884 by CJ Monroe, whose father, JR Monroe, founded South Haven in 1883. Stafford’s Bay View Inn

This Victorian-style inn is situated along the shores of Grand Traverse Bay, two miles from downtown Petoskey. Built in 1886 by John Wesly Howard and was originally called Woodland Avenue House, it was then renamed The Howard House in 1888 before it was called by its present name in 1935. Stafford’s Bay View Inn features a library and a sun room, both with TVs, and a business center. Despite its popularity as a summer hotel, this family-run inn is a nice place to stay during the first quarter of the year, with winter activities abound in nearby areas. Stafford’s Bay View Inn remains one of the oldest living hotels in Grand Rapids.
